The shady side of Julia Roberts

 tháng 8 25, 2019     No comments

For a generous portion of her career, actress Julia Roberts was considered America's sweetheart. She shot to fame in the early '90s as the street-walking star of Pretty Woman. Her infectious, toothy grin and girl-next-door Southern charm won Hollywood's heart, but there is also a shady and less polished side to Roberts that isn't often discussed in the media. The actress herself has admitted to making mistakes in the past, telling Harper's Bazaar in 2017 that "I was my priority, a selfish little brat running around making films." And with that, here are some controversial moments that have tarnished Robert's silver screen crown.

Julia Roberts reportedly hooked up with her ex's friend

In 1991, Julia Roberts was set to marry Kiefer Sutherland, who was quite the stud in his pre-Jack Bauer years. She called off the engagement just three days before the nuptials. According to the New York Daily News, Roberts allegedly thought her fiancé was cheating on her with a stripper. What's so wrong about a bride-to-be shutting down a wedding due to fidelity concerns? Nothing.

It was what Julia Roberts did immediately after she ended the relationship that makes you go hmm. According to People, she fled to Ireland and sought comfort from actor Jason Patric, a friend of Sutherland. On the eve of what would have been her wedding day, she went to a photo shoot reportedly wearing a "Notre Dame baseball cap suspiciously identical to the one worn around town by Patric." Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Julia Roberts broke Lyle Lovett's heart

Julia Roberts married oddly coifed country singer Lyle Lovett in 1993. They swapped vows after a three-week courtship, and she even went barefoot at their wedding. The odd couple seemed to share a sweet romance, or so it seemed on the surface. Imagine everyone's surprise when, just 21 months later, the pair issued a brief statement to announce its separation: "We remain close and in great support of each other."

The timing was terrible, and it seemed like Lovett got the short end of the stick. Roberts was in London shooting Mary Reilly, while Lovett was in Houston recovering from a motorcycle accident. (That doesn't sound like "great support" on Roberts' part.) Though the statement was a joint affair, fans felt like a doting Lovett had been put out to pasture as his wife's fame soared. Not long before the breakup, he'd talked happily about trying to start a family when Roberts finished filming — an idea that seemed unrealistic considering he also told People they had never spent seven straight days together.

Did Roberts wear a shady T-shirt to target her man's ex-wife?

That infamous baseball cap isn't the only time Julia Roberts has been accused of throwing shade with her fashion choices. She reportedly started dating now-husband Danny Moder in 2000, while Moder was still married to his first wife, makeup artist Vera Steimberg. In 2001, Roberts was spotted traipsing around in full view of paparazzi wearing a T-shirt that read "A Low Vera." That photo reportedly didn't sit well with Moder's family. A source told People that Moder's father was perturbed by Roberts' seemingly petty sartorial selection, especially since Steimberg was close with Moder's family.

Roberts never expressed remorse for that notorious outfit. She later told Oprah Winfrey, "I stand by my shirt," pointing the finger at the tabloid press who "dramatize these things until there's a state of frenzy. People see frenzy and they go, 'What?' Then they clamor toward the frenzy. We all do it. It's a primal, natural response." Was that an intellectual moment or just another sick burn — perhaps one requiring some soothing A Low Vera? (Sorry, we couldn't resist.)

Julia Roberts allegedly spun her breakup with Benjamin Bratt to hurt him
Life & Style reported that not only did Julia Roberts pursue married Danny Moder "in a big way," but she supposedly dropped her four-year relationship with actor Benjamin Bratt to go after the cameraman. She allegedly took the shade up a notch by spinning the press in her favor.

The Bratt breakup was "a lot nastier than anyone ever knew," an insider told the National Enquirer. "They accused each other of cheating, and Ben finally said he'd had enough. Julia has always said she walked out on him, but it was the other way around. And Julia claimed she ended the relationship because he couldn't commit. That had Ben seeing red. He was the one who wanted to settle down and start a family, but Julia refused." Ouch.

Did she play publicity games to improve her 'homewrecker' image?

Rumor has it that Julia Roberts allegedly didn't take much issue with pursuing Danny Moder while he was married to then-wife Vera Steimberg, but the A-list actress supposedly did worry about her reputation taking a hit because of it. Take all this with a huge helping of salt, but according to Radar Online, Roberts may have offered Steimberg $100,000 to divorce Moder. The tabloid also claimed that Moder's sister kept a diary while in rehab that accused Roberts of destroying her brother's marriage and fracturing the family.

Needless to say, an insider told Life & Style that Roberts was mortified by the "homewrecker" label with which she'd been slapped, calling it "an absolute PR disaster." Some sources claimed Roberts' focus on family life and charity work was born of a desire to combat her portrayal in the press as some sort of villainous minx. "Being as down-to-earth and unHollywood as possible has made Hollywood embrace her again," one insider said.

Julia Roberts was nicknamed 'Tinkerhell'

When Steven Spielberg directed Hook, he cast Julia Roberts as the magical fairy Tinkerbell in the Peter Pan adaptation. By the time the credits rolled, she'd been nicknamed "Tinkerhell." The handle spread like wildfire, and this was back in 1991, before social media and all things viral! During an interview on 60 Minutes, Spielberg was asked about Roberts' professionalism. He replied, "It was an unfortunate time for us to work together."

Roberts never grew out of that reputation, despite playing nice in nearly every interview about it. "Hand to God: not a thing I read about that was truthful, and it really hurt my feelings," she told Vanity Fair. Regarding Spielberg's comments, she said, "I couldn't believe that this person that I knew and trusted was actually hesitating to come to my defense. It was a hard lesson to learn. It was the first time that I felt I had a turncoat in my midst." As they say, heavy is the head that wears the crown.

Jim Carrey's tragic real-life story

 tháng 8 25, 2019     No comments

Jim Carrey's wild personality, kooky facial expressions, and outlandish sense of humor have been making the world chuckle since the '80s. After snagging a gig on The Tonight Show at the age of 21, he parlayed his newfound success into a recurring spot on the '90s sketch comedy show In Living Color. He tickled our funny bones as he depicted memorable characters, such as Fire Marshall Bill and the buff bodybuilder Vera de Milo, and it was clear as day that Carrey had no limit to how far he would go to bring laughter into his fans' lives.

Box office success soon followed, with movies such as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and Dumb and Dumber, but despite his accomplishments, he has struggled with inner turmoil that manifested itself during his childhood and wreaked havoc in his life well into his adult years. This is the tragic real-life story of Jim Carrey.

He grew up terrified that the Grim Reaper would come for his parents

Jim Carrey grew up grappling with a fear that his parents, who were "heavy smokers" weren't going to survive. "I remember locking myself in the bathroom and crying because I thought they were going to die. They banged on the door, telling me to come out. I don't know if I got over that fear at that time; it was just kind of with me," he told The Hollywood Reporter. His fears heightened as his mom freely talked about her own mortality. "I remember being seven years old and my mother at the dinner table saying things like, 'My brain is deteriorating at an incredible rate!' or 'My angina's acting up; I could go at any time!'" he recalled. "Things like that would just shake me to the core."

Those tragic childhood circumstances inspired Carrey to pen 2013 children's book, How Roland Rolls, which tackles some of the serious topics that affect young people. "One of the things I've always wanted to talk about or deal with is the fact that kids have profound feelings and profound questions that people don't give them credit for. They think about life and death and 'What happens when something happens to Mom? What happens when something happens to me?'"

Carrey eventually came to grips with his mom's outspoken banter, realizing it was her way of "getting attention and getting love," — but it was at the cost of scaring the bejesus out of him.

Carrey dropped out of school to support his impoverished family

At the age of 10, Carrey wrote a heartfelt letter to The Carol Burnett Show in hopes of showing off his "150 voices" on the program. He waited for a reply and was finally greeted with a rejection letter from the TV personality, who told him the program was "just grown-ups" and encouraged Carrey to "stay in school, study hard."

Sadly, Carrey wasn't able to heed her advice after his father lost his job as an accountant. In order to help his family make ends meet, the Bruce Almighty star dropped out of school on his 16th birthday, according to CBS News. "We were experiencing poverty at that point. We all got a job, where the whole family had to work as security guards and janitors." There was a bright side to his early exit from school. Carrey was determined not to be a looo-hoo-zuh-her, so he spent his time away from the classroom working on his comedy act "full-time." And, boy, did that pay off.

His mirror was his only friend

Jim Carrey also dealt with bouts of loneliness as a child, which he described in a December 1984 issue of Interview magazine. When asked if his childhood was unusual in any sort of way, he made the startling admission: "Well, I spent most of my time in my room staring at a mirror. I never knew I was supposed to socialize," he said. He went on to say that he would spend "hours" making faces at himself in front of the mirror, but he described the memory in a nostalgic way by claiming he was just "having a good time."

While chatting with James Lipton on Inside the Actors Studio (via the Daily Mail), the Liar Liar actor shared more secrets about his life of solitude, but he hinted that his aversion to being a social butterfly may have been self-imposed. After dropping out of school, he said he went from being a "straight-A student to not wanting to know anybody's name, and not wanting to make a friend."

Carrey's family was homeless and lived in a van

The Carrey family's financial hardships meant tough times were abundant. The comedian revealed in an interview with Inside the Actors Studio (via People), that he and his family even had to live "in a van for a while."

However, Jim Carrey managed to turn those difficult times into a source of laughter: "A lot of people don't know this but when I was about 14 or 15, my father lost his job and I actually became homeless for quite some time, but of course, I grew up in Canada and I thought we'd gone camping," he says in one of his earlier comedy skits. Thankfully, those difficult days are now over, and Carrey has used his fortunes to give his lifestyle a complete 180, like the time he purchased a beachside Malibu home that he later sold for a whopping $13.4 million. Cha-ching!

He killed at The Comedy Store ... but not in the good way

During The Hollywood Reporter's June 2019 roundtable chat with other Hollywood comedy legends, Jim Carrey revealed a particularly tragic evening he endured as a fledgling stand-up comic. Describing a disastrous set at Los Angeles' famous Comedy Store as "an exercise in self-punishment and punishment for [the audience]," Carrey said he refused to leave the stage "for two hours" even though the crowd hated him so much that audience members literally threw chairs.

"I finally got offstage to huge applause just because I mentioned I was going to leave the stage," Carrey said, adding, "Then I crawled through the audience on my hands and knees, popped up behind the piano and started banging on the keys, singing, 'I hate you all, you gave me cancer.'" The 250-person crowd didn't love that either, and all but five people supposedly walked out. Though Carey was clearly working through some issues and was the antagonist in the situation, he left the show feeling devastated. "I got in the car and I cried all the way home," he said, "Because I don't want to make people unhappy."

Jim Carrey has suffered from depression

In an interview with CNN's Larry King, Jim Carrey described himself as a "weird, serious person," and he dove deeper into that topic when he chatted with iNews. His "serious" personality isn't one the public gets to see often, and it could be attributed to the actor's struggle with depression. He revealed that it took him some time, but he was able to get to a point where he was "sometimes happy."

After gradually ditching Prozac, abstaining from alcohol and drugs, and limiting his coffee intake, Carrey found that his mental wellness improved. To keep depression at bay, he looked toward the spiritual side of his life. "Jesus. I'm a Buddhist, I'm a Muslim, I'm a Christian. I'm whatever you want me to be," he told 60 Minutes. "It all comes down to the same thing … You are either in a loving place, or you are in an unloving place. If you are with me right now, you cannot be unhappy. It's not possible, just try."

He became 'obsessed' with art to mend his 'broken heart'

We've seen Jim Carrey hit up the red carpet with a bevy of beautiful women, but one of his most well-known relationships was with fellow actress and comedienne Jenny McCarthy. After five years together, the couple announced its breakup. "Those moments where you saw us together, was it love? You're damned right it was," McCarthy told Oprah Winfrey in September 2010. "The problem is there wasn't a photographer when the times were rough."

After going their separate ways, Carrey turned to art as a form of therapy. In the documentary, Jim Carrey: I Needed Color, he said painting and creating clay sculptures helped him "heal a broken heart." Although he didn't mention McCarthy by name, the timeline of their breakup coincided with his foray into the art world. "When I really started painting a lot, I had become so obsessed that there was nowhere to move in my home. Paintings were everywhere, they were becoming part of the furniture. I was eating on them," he said.

He's been called 'a hard guy to date'

Jim Carrey has had a long list of leading women in and out of his life. He married actress Melissa Womer in 1987, and they had a daughter, Jane, before they went their separate ways. He married his Dumb and Dumber co-star, Lauren Holly, in 1996, but she filed for divorce in July 1997. A string of rocky relationships followed, including a broken engagement to his Me, Myself & Irene co-star Renée Zellweger (pictured).

After news broke that his aforementioned romance with Jenny McCarthy was on the skids, those close to the actor spoke out about Carrey's relationship style in unflattering terms. One source labeled the comedian "a hard guy to date," telling People that "Jim can run hot and he can run cold. He is someone who desperately needs to be with someone, then just as desperately needs to be alone. But at the same time, he can be a very loving, very compassionate guy."

Risk factors for low back pain

Risk factors for back pain include low physical activity, overweight, smoking, psychosocial factors (stress, depression, poor job satisfaction), heavy physical work, heavy motoring, and accidents.

The best way to prevent back pain rejuvenation or to keep symptoms under control is to stay in good shape. Continue to exercise and exercise for your back. Sore back does not mean that it could not be used. Even moving around promotes healing.

Sudden or acute lower back pain

In sudden lower back pain (less than 6 weeks), bed rest should be avoided and daily activities should be avoided despite pain. It is advisable to return to work as soon as possible by agreeing on work arrangements with the employer and occupational health care.

Cold pack as a topical treatment and (inflammation) analgesics can ease the pain. Relaxing the back with resting positions and, for example, pillows or a therapy ball, can help ease back pain. The back rest positions aim to relieve the pain in the back area.

Prolonged lower back pain

Long-term or chronic lower back pain

If your back pain is long-lasting (over 12 weeks), regular exercise and proper pain relief will make you feel better.

Long-term back pain can be caused by the fact that the actual tissue damage has improved, but the pain continues due to the disorder of the control system. Psychosocial factors such as depression, anxiety, stress, negative thoughts, fears, and work-related problems may also affect pain prolongation. lower back pain treatment

lower back pain treatment  2019

lower back pain

General description

Back pain is one of the most common reasons why people go to the doctor or miss work and is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. Most people suffer from back pain a minimum of once.
Fortunately, you can take measures to prevent or relieve most episodes of back pain. If bar fails, straightforward home treatment and correct body mechanics can usually heal your back in an exceedingly few weeks and keep it useful. Surgery is rarely needed to treat back pain.
symptom
Signs and symptoms of back pain may include the following:
Muscle pains
Throbbing pain
Pain that radiates towards the leg
Pain that gets worse when you flex, stand, stand or walk
Pain that improves when lying down
When should you see a doctor?
In most cases, back pain gradually improves with home treatment and personal care, usually in a few weeks. If your pain does not improve in that time, consult your doctor.
In rare cases, back pain can indicate a serious medical problem. Seek immediate attention if your back pain:
causes new bladder or bowel problems;
it is accompanied by fever;
it appears after a fall, a blow to the back or another injury.

Contact a doctor if your back pain:

it is intense and does not improve with rest;
it extends to one or both legs, especially if the pain extends below the knee;
causes weakness, symptom or tingling in one or each legs;
It is accompanied by unexplained weight loss.
Also, consult your doctor if you start having back pain for the first time after age 50, or if you have a history of cancer, osteoporosis, steroid use, or excessive use of drugs or alcohol.
Causes
Pain in the lower back caused by degeneration and injury of the spine.
Click here for more information on an infographic
Back pain that appears suddenly and lasts less than six weeks (acute) can be the result of a fall or lifting of a heavy object. Back pain that lasts more than three months (chronic) is less frequent than acute pain.
Often, back pain manifests itself without a cause that the doctor can identify with a test or an imaging study. The disorders frequently related to back pain include:
Muscle or ligament pressure. Lifting heavy objects repeatedly or doing a sudden wrong movement can put pressure on the muscles of the back and ligaments of the spine. If your physical condition is not good, constant pressure on your back could cause painful muscle spasms.
Protrusion or herniated disk. The discs function as buffers between the bones (vertebrae) of the spine. The soft material inside the disc may have a bulge or a rupture and exert pressure on a nerve. However, you may have a bulge or a herniated disc without feeling back pain. Discopathy is usually discovered accidentally when, for some other reason, you have an x-ray of your spine.
Arthritis. Osteoarthritis can affect the lower back. In some cases, arthritis of the spine can reduce the space surrounding the spinal cord, a condition called spinal stenosis.
Bone irregularities. A disorder in which the spine curves to the side (scoliosis) can also cause back pain, but usually not before middle age.
   Osteoporosis.
The vertebrae of the spine may have compression fractures if your bones become porous and fragile.
Risk factor's
Anyone can develop back pain, including children and adolescents. These factors can increase the risk of developing back pain:
Age. Back pain is a lot of common as you mature, starting at age 30 or 40.
Lack of exercise. Weak and unused muscles of the back and abdomen can cause back pain.
Over weight. Excess body weight exerts an overload on the back.
Diseases. Some styles of inflammatory disease and willcer can contribute to back pain.
Pick up objects incorrectly. Using the back instead of the legs can cause back pain.
Psychological conditions People prone to depression and anxiety seem to have a higher risk of suffering from back pain.
Smoking This reduces blood flow to the lower part of the spine, which can prevent your body from supplying enough nutrients to the back discs. Smoking also delays recovery.
Prevention

lower back pain treatment  2019

You can avoid back pain or prevent it from happening again if you improve your physical condition and learn and practice proper body mechanics.
To keep your back strong and healthy:
Do exercise. The regular practice of low impact aerobic activities (those that do not produce pressure or shake your back) can improve the strength and endurance of your back and allow your muscles to work better. Walking and swimming are good options. Talk to your doctor about activities you can try.
Develop muscle strength and flexibility. Exercises for the muscles of the abdomen and back, which strengthen the middle area of ??the body, help develop these muscles to function as a natural strip for your back. The flexibility in your hips and upper legs aligns your pelvic bones to improve the feeling in your back. The doctor or physical therapist can tell you what exercises are right for you.
Maintain a healthy weight Overweight puts pressure on the muscles of the back. If you are overweight, losing weight can prevent back pain.
Give up smoking. Talk to your doctor about methods to quit smoking.
Avoid the movements of rotation or pressure on your back. Use your body properly:
Maintain an upright posture Do not bend over. Maintains a neutral pelvic position If you must remain standing for a long time, put one foot on a low footrest to remove some weight from the lower area of ??your back. Alternate the feet. Good posture can reduce stress on the back muscles.
Sit upright. Choose a seat that has good support for the back, armrests and a swivel base. Placing a cushion or rolled towel in the lumbar area of ??your back can maintain its normal curve. Put your knees and hips at the same level. Change your position often, a minimum of each [*fr1] hour.
Stand up straight. If possible, avoid lifting heavy things, but if you must do it, let your legs do the work. Put your back straight (no twisting) and bend only your knees. Place the object near the body. Find a person to help you lift the object if it is heavy or uncomfortable.

Be a careful buyer
Because back pain is so common, several products promise prevention or relief. However, there is no evidence to show that the use of special shoes, insoles, back supports, specially designed furniture or stress management programs can be useful.
Also, there does not seem to be a type of mattress that is better for people with back pain. It is probably a matter of what is most comfortable for you.

The 80s represent an unforgettable decade, a time of rebellion, with colorful clothes, voluminous hairstyles and a very heavy makeup. We liked to marry different styles. Some styles imposed themselves and others collectively. But all these styles were welcome in society.

The hairstyles of the 80s did not go unnoticed. We saw hair everywhere: sprinkled with spray, gel, moss or gominées. We made perms with asymmetrical cuts. It was normal to see the wavy spongy hair or to have a curly wet curly hair with a small bang on the sides. Smooth hair was forbidden at the time so many were loops to add volume. They also wore prominent fringes with half ponytails where half of the hair was plated and the other half curly disheveled. If the hair was short the woman could wear it with a hoopette, with a curly fringe. The famous singer Madonna has launched fashion band and accessories for flashy hair. The eccentric look of the hair was to complement a daring makeup. The lips are dark and matte in color and orange, mauve, fuchsia, purple and red. The face was covered with a good layer of foundation, the eyes were the headlights of the face, eyelids with associations of colors such as pink, blue, black, purple and gray. The eyeliner was to apply to the inside and outside of the eye with thick lines. Mascara was mandatory, at least two layers of black. And on the cheekbones we used dark colors to bring out the whole thing.
The perfect look of the time was worn with jewels or essential accessories. The epaulettes were put in jackets, tops and dresses. Skirts and dresses could be very short. The idea was that everything was exaggerated. The elastic tights could be used every day they were very tight and it highlighted the legs of women especially with their flashy and fluorescent colors. Shirts and T-shirts long and wide that reached the hips accompanied pantyhose and mini-skirts. The loose pants were part of that era of fashion.

Among the accessories that accompanied these extravagant looks, there were the sunglasses. The Ray-Ban brand was the most popular brand. Fancy earrings or collectible jewelry; flashy and fluorescent necklaces and rings. Red gloves and matching tights with skirts. In the 80s, the clothes that had the most style were the ones that shone the most. Rhinestones often appeared on jackets and all kinds of accessories. The most popular colors were: fuchsia, yellow, orange, green and traditional black and white.Time changes and transforms everything, as it happened with jewelry. They have been present since the beginning of humanity and to the extent that the world has evolved, jewelry has also been transformed. Since its beginnings, the man has looked at different materials to transform and use them as ornaments, and, in his natural need for dressing, the first materials he used were the bones of different wild animals. These decorations gave it an ornamental and symbolic function. In prehistory, the most common items were mammoth canines and rib fragments, which covered and adorned breasts and arms with large bracelets and necklaces. Other civilizations of the Mediterranean coasts benefited from the collection of sea shells and molluscs to draw pendant ornaments. However, archaeological records indicate that seeds, feathers, wood and leather were also used as raw material for the manufacture of their first jewelry, and in some cases the pieces were mother of pearl.

Later, Egyptian designs were widely used in jewelry. Gold has been used as the main piece in their outfits. Their jewelry was bulky and heavy, ranging from big bracelets to huge necklaces. They had a particular preference: a very special creation called "collar", made with a set of metal discs and was worn directly on the skin. The women wore lush gold, silver and bronze pieces that they used in ceremonies.

At the beginning of the modern era, necklaces of thick, hollow, filigree or openwork balls were used, always as feminine ornaments. The Egyptians wore medallions, usually metal, around the neck as a personal ornament containing, among other things, a falcon or a vulture with spread wings.
The earrings were used as decorative elements, not only to decorate the ears, but also the whole body. Likewise, this custom was adopted by the Greeks and Romans, who wore gold earrings in their bodies. Even children wore gold earrings in one ear.
